On this week’s episode of Market Like a Boss Podcast, I share how to market consistently when you don’t feel like it.
There’s going to be some tough love during this episode, but if you’re not marketing consistently…you have a problem and so does your business!
Let’s figure out what’s causing you to be inconsistent and change your mindset, shall we?
Your marketing has to be consistent if you want to land clients consistently. Often I find that business owners are holding themselves back for some reason. So, what’s holding you back? Why don’t you feel like doing your marketing? Are there negative thoughts coming up for you? Self-doubt? Are you afraid of hearing the word “no”?
Honestly ladies, these are excuses. In reality, your business needs you, your clients need you, and prospective clients need you.
I truly believe that discipline = freedom and consistency = clients.
The person who suffers the most when you’re not consistent is your clients. How can you serve them if you’re not showing up regularly? Remove yourself from the equation and shift your focus back to the people who need you.
The biggest thing that causes business owners to not market consistently is their need for control. When you have this mindset, it’s hard to show up. You get in your own way. It took me a long time to let go of the things I couldn’t control and it has led me to greater freedom in my business.
Ask yourself: what can I control?
For example: you can control how you respond, you can control what you say, and you can control how you show up for your audience.
The other thing that causes women to be inconsistent in their marketing is feeling like they have to do it all. You try to tackle too much…then you lose your momentum in your business because you’re exhausted. Consistency is manageable when you focus on one thing at a time. If you can’t decide on the one thing to focus on, think of the one thing that’s going really well right now in your marketing and run with it. Doing that one thing over and over again is what will land you clients.
Lastly, you can’t be your own accountability partner. Find someone else to keep you on track. This could be a business coach, other entrepreneurs, or business groups. Every day you’re not being consistent in your marketing is a day you’re leaving money and clients on the table. Having a support system is KEY.
Remember – take action even when you don’t feel like it. Everyone experiences bad days, but don’t let them derail your marketing completely. Take time to figure out what’s causing you to lose motivation in your marketing, choose to focus on what’s going well and do more of it, and find someone who supports your business and ask them to hold you accountable.
