Regardless of where you are, these are 5 steps that every single woman needs to take to get clients.
I do not believe that “one size fits all” here, how you work each of these steps will vary from person to person. But it is important to have a framework and to know what you need to work towards if you want clients.
1: Know your audience
You need to know who your audience is and commit to them. If you are trying to talk to a lot of different people at once your messages are going to fall on deaf ears.
Stop trying to be everything to everyone! Pick an audience.
Who do you want to target?
Who do you enjoy working with?
Who would you serve if you had to serve one person for the rest of your life?
It doesn’t mean that you can’t evolve or add on as you grow. But you’re never going to get to that point of growth if you don’t figure out who your audience is.
2: Know what you’re promoting
What are you offering to your clients?
Your audience doesn’t really care about the details of your offer. They just care about the outcome, the transformation.
“How is it going to affect their lives? How is it going to transform their lives? That’s what you need to know if you want to market to them.” – Michelle Vroom
If you aren’t getting results right now, it’s likely because you are not all in with what you’re offering, you’re not completely clear on what you’re offering, or both.
3: Craft the right message
You do not have the say the right thing to get to the right client. You just need to show up and talk to your audience about their challenges and how you can help them.
It’s not about saying the right thing or putting together the perfect sentence. It’s about using their language and talking to them about their current situation and how you’re going to help change their lives.
Don’t try to find the perfect word or phrase. That puts pressure on you and you start showing up from a place of desperation and you sound like you’re talking from a script. Talk to your audience like a human. Messaging is a two-way street.
4: Market yourself, put yourself out there
Show up in one place at a time. Where is your audience spending time? Start there.
Find one spot to communicate with your audience and show up consistently. Show up energized, excited, and confident.
“You do not need to be everywhere to get steady clients.” – Michelle Vroom
Marketing is building a relationship and you can’t build a relationship if you are in 10 different places at once.
5: Focus on mindset
There is so much that goes on inside of our brains that holds us back.
What happens in the mind dictates your behavior and the actions that you take. If your mind is not right, you’re not going to get the right clients! You’ve got to get your mind right.
You have to be wiling to tackle the hard stuff. Mindset stems from years and years of issues and struggles and habits. You have to get uncomfortable and talk about it to reach your full potential.
Mindset is a part of your marketing. Is there some type of fear that’s holding you back from getting clients? Whatever you are experiencing or hearing from your potential clients is a mirror to what’s really going on inside of you.
You need to be in the driver’s seat of your business, not your limiting beliefs. It’s time to take away their power by figuring out:
Why you’re experiencing these thoughts
Why these beliefs are coming up for you
What you need to do to shift
I hope this has been helpful for you! These are the 5 steps that I take to get my clients, and the 5 steps I help my clients work through to get their clients. I’m excited to hear what these steps are going to do for you too!
