On this week’s episode of Market Like a Boss Podcast, I’m talking about why you need to show up for your people…even when you don’t feel like it.
Quite frankly, this is a much-needed pep talk. It’s so common to hold yourself back from showing up for the people who need you most…mostly out of your own fear. In this episode, I talk about why you might not be showing up and how to shift your mindset so that you can market with confidence.
Why don’t you show up? We are all guilty of this no matter what stage our businesses are in. Consistency in marketing is KEY. If you are not showing up, how are you supposed to gain new clients? Here are a few ways you might be holding yourself back:
You’re afraid of judgement.
You might be showing up, but are you being completely transparent? Are you fearful of someone telling you “no”? Are you afraid to share your successes? There’s so many of you out there who are afraid to share not only your successes but your failures as well. I can’t tell you how important it is to be transparent. It just makes you that much more relatable to your audience.
Your fear of judgement is holding you back. This comes back to knowing who your ideal client is. If you’re targeting the right clients, being confident in your messaging, and taking action in your marketing will lead you to success.
You feel that everything has to be perfect.
There’s no such thing as perfection (yes, I said it)… especially in marketing. The more you wait for things to happen in your business the less opportunities you’re creating for yourself. The illusion of being perfect is not going to help you or your business because it’s not real.
All these thoughts are holding you back. These fears are a choice. You’re choosing these fears over your dream clients. Stop telling yourself to not show up. You can still experience these fears, but you work through them and take action. Taking action will build your confidence.
You have to get rid of the mindset of thinking your clients will come to you first…YOU need to take the first step. It’s your responsibility to take action.
Try this challenge
I encourage you to write a letter to your dream client on why you can’t help them. It may sound strange, but I want you to picture your dream client telling you that they are struggling and you can provide a solution. However, you’re not showing up for them. How will your client feel with that response? Put your focus back on your clients. That’s who matters at this time because you can serve them.
Let’s not have your fears get in the way anymore and take action, ladies!
